Marina Rosa

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be an architect. From a child who wanted to build houses for her dolls, to working on a 4,582,401m² slum upgrading, what puts it all together for me is a passion for improving spaces and, through that, lives. I am a true believer in architecture’s transformative power.

This passion has put me through more than 10 years of education and 12 years of practice in São Paulo and Barcelona. My experience has a large scope: urban planning, residential, commercial and public architecture, from concept to completion. Having worked on awarded projects, I strive for excellence and I look for colleagues who share the same goals. I enjoy collaboration and I have always prioritized, along with quality work, quality relationships in the workplace.

Experience

Lead Designer + Project Coordinator at RSAAW: August 2019 Vancouver, Canada
• Led Concept and Schematic Design stages.
• Spearheaded DP and BP approvals, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.
Architect (project-based) at Hadjo Forbes Architects: April 2019 – August 2019 Richmond, BC
• Undertook Environmental Graphics Design for BC Government’s Office space in Prince George, from Schematic Design to Development.
• Introduced design changes that led to client’s approval within ten days of taking on the project.
Architect at UMA Projectes: Jan 2015 – Mar 2019 Architecture firm in Barcelona, Spain
• Supervised work of interns in Barcelona and worked alongside firm’s partners and engineers.
• Responsible for design development, graphical documents and detailing of firm’s main projects, including three cycle-lanes in Barcelona.
• Implemented a new standard for 3d renders which improved clients’ feedback.
• Achieved high-level design precision for the “Bariton House” which used exposed brickwork and applied it to create a light filtering façade.
• Coordinated construction documents for the “Can Blay House”, designed by Jean Nouvel Atelier.
Architect at FDE: Feb 2015 – May 2015 Government Entity for Education Development, São Paulo, Brazil
• Coordinated and reviewed school projects.
• Developed calculation system for schools’ evaluation by the National Label of Energy Conservation.
Architect at Libeskindllovet Arquitetos Associados: Apr 2010 – Dec 2014 Architecture firm in São Paulo, Brazil
• Design development and Construction documentation for public and private contracts.
• Coordinated design team and engineers to meet projects requirements and deadlines.
• Prominent role on Social Housing and Urban Projects awarded first prize in the design competition “Renova-SP” and featured at the 2018 Venice Biennale.
