Bariton House

In an urban block of townhouses, the project’s site was subject to strict zoning limitations that defined the cubic, totally built envelope with no cantilevers. Transforming constraints into design strategy, the project employed exposed white brickwork to create an exterior light filtering façade and freed the interior spaces from this boundary. Depending on the uses intended, the rooms departed from the outside façade, allowing for internal terraces, and spaces vertically connected. This distributed natural light and created an intimate atmosphere. The program is organized in three levels around a vertical core with an elevator, a sculptural staircase and a skylight that brings natural light to the ground floor.
