Porto Seguro Headquarters
In 2013, Brazilian Insurance Company Porto Seguro invited a few architecture firms to participate in an Architectural Design Competition for its new Headquarters in a prominent corner of a city block occupied by other several Porto Seguro owned buildings. The design briefing required two different proposals: one according to current local zoning; the other considering increased intensity of land use to be approved in the forthcoming municipal plan.
The visually impacting design presented by Libeskindllovet, selected as one of the two finalists for the competition, conveyed a contemporary message of innovation, sustainability and urban life. The building volume was conceived to relate to surrounding buildings, respecting their views to the city. Its inviting ground level allowed connection to nearby offices and ample access to both pedestrian and vehicles, becoming a social centre for the brand. On the higher levels, additional points of connection to adjacent buildings were proposed and open floor plans allowed for a flexible layout.
